Dear Hazel John If the tubes are really blocked the only option is IVF. In vitro fertilisation (IVF) is often a process in which an egg is fertilised by sperm outside the body of female so called in vitro. IVF is often a major strategy to infertility when tube is blocked and other strategies to assisted reproductive technology have failed. The task involves monitoring a females ovulatory process, removing ovum or ova through the women ovaries and letting sperm fertilise them in a fluid medium in the laboratory. Whenever a women natural cycle is monitored to get a naturally selected ovum for fertilisation, think of it as natural cycle IVF. The fertilised egg (zygote) will be used in mother uterus with the aim of starting a successful pregnancy. The initial successful birth of a test tube baby, was produced by Louise Brown, happened 1978. Louise Brown was created because of natural cycle IVF. Robert G. Edwards, the physiologist who developed treatments, was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine. You can try IVF if you have the problem with the tube. With regard J S Chowhan |
