Dear Sarwath Recent scientific Studies have shown that 5% of all women had an arcuate uterus making it the most common uterine anomaly. Even after having arcuate uterus In most affected women, the problem does not happen in pregnancy. But in many women reproductive difficulties including a higher risk for miscarriage, premature birth, and malpresentation of baby. But on the other hand, many patients with an arcuate uterus will not experience any reproductive problems and do not require any kind of corrective surgery. You should keep in mind that arcuate uterus is not a single factor that can cause infertility. There are many other associated factors are usually present which can be the cause of infertility. Once you have infertility Depending on the severity of the defect seen in the Hysterosalpingogram, and your husband's semen analysis, the further course of action can be decided. If the semen analysis is normal, then you can try to conceive normally for a few more months and get the advice of a Gynecologist to have some fertility stimulating treatment. If that does not help, taking help from a infertility expert and assisted reproductive techniques that is called I V F can be sought accordingly. For arcuate uterus metroplasty can be performed if it of real significant cause. You should send your HSG report to us and then we can advice you if the surgery is indicated or not.
