Dear Doctor, Was operate for Appendicitis(via laparoscopy) earlier and diaganosed with indirect hernia exactly a year back. The hernia is positioned on right side just below the abdomen near the leg. My question to you: a) Is it advisable to operate for hernis via laparoscopy or the traditional surgery would be an advisable option as the area was under the influence of laparoscopr when the appendix was removed. B)did not operate for hernea since a year now,I donot feel any alarming pain, etc...its just irritating me since a couple of days. should i still NOT do away with it? If I donot what are the complications that may arise in future? Please advise on all above aspects.. Request for a speedy reply. Thanka and regards, Nazir Ahmed |

Dear Mr Ahmed Laparoscopic hernia surgery can be performed without any problem in your case. Three tiny scars rather than one large abdominal incision Short hospital stay Reduced post-operative pain Low hospital costs Faster return to work Shorter recovery time and earlier resumption of daily activities So in our opinion you should go for laparoscopic hernia repair.
