Dear N K Vaishnav Laparoscopic or da Vinci Robotic Hysterectomy is a good option for your wife. Laparoscopic Hysterectomy is performed for a wide range of benign and malignant conditions, such as fibroids, menorrhagia and pelvic pain, and malignancies. One in four women has a chance of undergoing hysterectomy sometime. Conventionally abdominal hysterectomy is done through the open approach. Modern laparoscopic hysterectomy is superior to the standard approach. Laparoscopic surgical centres are mushrooming in major cities. You can even approach to World Laparoscopy Hospital for Laparoscopic Hysterectomy. With regard J S Chowhan |

Ultrasound report of my wife is-uterus is enlarged in size & shows distorted countour. There is evidence of multiple suberosal & intramural fibroids varying from 20 to 30 mm in size.Endometrial echo is central with normal thickness 10.8mm.Pouch of douglas is clear.Attending Doctor has adviced for removal of uterus,my wife age is 43 years. What is your suggestion. Dear Raju Please inform about your wife's complaints also to suggest the medical or surgical treatment. In case you do not want more children and she has heavy bleeding during menses than she is advised to undergo surgery. If she is asymtomatic, these small fibroids may dissolve after menopause.
