Dear Dr. My Grandfather is having Hernia in both the sides. He is having this problem from a very long time (15-20 yrs). As in his case he is not having pain so he never went for surgery. We recently met an Urologist and he suggested him to go for surgery. I have few questions in the above case; 1. His Age is 77, is it ok to for surgery at this age will it create any other complication. 2. As he is having this problem from last 15 to 20 years, will it create any problem in surgery? 3. Can laparoscopic surgery be done in this case? Please help & guide. Regards! Kr. Gaurav 9971007738 |

Dear Gaurav Laparoscopic repair of hernia is method of choice for bilateral hernia surgery. We can perform laparoscopic repair of hernia for your grandfather without any problem, however we have to do one pre anaesthesia check up to rule out any severe co morbidity. With regard J S Chowhan |
