I have been waiting for my surgery. It was cancelled because when I arrived at the hospital, I was told I had a noise that didn't sound good in my lungs. Now I have been told that I need to have my esophagus dilated before the surgery. Does that mean I would still go through the hernia repair? |

Dear Darlene Nowakowski The dilatation of the esophagus is done in cases of stricture of esophagus. The surgery for hiatal hernia has no relation with dilatation of the essophagus. You may send your reports to World Laparoscopy hospital, Gurgaon, for further advice. Thanks With Regards DR J S Chowhan |
