I always regurgitates food after eating as well after drinking .Also feel heart burn. Doctor told me this is GERD.I am facing this problm for last 5 years.I am taking PPI,it controls acidity but not regurtitaion.I have heard about fudoplication. I want to know the success of this operation and how much it cost. |

Dear Vikash Kumar The GERD is a symptomatic disease and initially medical treatment with PPIs,upright posture on lying down,small frequent meals and avoidance of spicy and fried meals gives relief.If the medical treatment fails then a number of tests are done to know the severity and need of surgical treatment,which is Fundoplication.The success of this operation depends on proper selection of the case.The cost of this surgery is about Rs.1,50,000/ (Rupees One Lakh Fifty Thousand only.)
