As a left handed surgeon, I am having difficulty in port placement. what are the best locations for a left handed surgeon for lap cholecystectomy? |

Dear Roger Abdelnour. As a laparoscopic surgeon you have to develop ambidexterity and even if you are a left handed surgeon you have to stand left to the patient. If you want to do in french position then you can stand in between the leg of the patient and it can give you some flexibility to use your left hand with much better ergonomics. But if you stand in between the leg your port position will be different and you have to learn baseball diamond concept of port position. Your manipulation angle should be 60 degree.
