Dear Kashmeera Shah Normally for the diagnosis of the fibroid of the uterus ultrasound and MRI of the pelvis is always done. The MRI tells the exact number and location of the fibroids. During surgery only the bigger fibroids causing excessive mentrual bleeding i.e. menorrhagia or infertility are removed and smaller ones are left behind. If the surgeons attempts to remove all the fibroids at times it amounts to removing the entire uterus. So before surgery the patient must be told that which fibroids will be removed. After surgery with passage of time the left over smaller fibroids can grow bigger. I feel your gynaecologist must have also explained the same to you. You may send your recent and earlier reports for further advice.
