Dear Doctor, My 17 year old daughter is suffering from bilateral hidronephrosis with the pain in pelvis. The urologist in Canada has asked for pyeloplasty. I am interested in getting this surgery in your center in India. Few people has recommended me that World Laparoscopy Hospital is good for the robotics. please advice.

Dear Supriyo Mukharjee
Hydronephrosis can be caused either by ureteric stone or by pelviureteric obstruction, which is present since birth. Before surgery ultrasound,IVP and DTPA scan for differential function of both the kidneys is required besides routine blood and urine tests. The pyeloplasty can be done both by Laparoscopy and robotic surgery. You are requested to send the scanned reports of your daughter for further advice.

Thanks

With Regards

Dr J S Chowhan
