I live in Dehradun. I underwent an open surgery in the year 1990 (Fundoplication + Vagotomy +Pyloroplasty). In April 2013 I had another open surgery for incisional hernia and removal of gall bladder. After this surgery, I have been facing problems. After several tests I have been advised an open surgery (distal gastrectomy with roux en y gastrojejunostomy). Can this surgery be performed laparoscopically? If yes, is it done in your hospital? |

Dear Shailendra Saxena Although distal gastrectomy with roux en y gastrojejunostomy can be done laparoscopically but in your case since multiple surgeries have been done by open surgery there will be lots of adhesions and laparoscopic surgery will be difficult and it may have to be converted to open surgery.
