I had a splenectomy for my splenomegaly problem 3 months ago. Only 15 days after surgery I started to develop abdominal pain. I asked my surgeon and then he said that it is normal and that it will be fine after a few weeks. I again developed abdominal pain a few weeks ago and consulted a doctor. He recommended an MRI of the abdomen. Once the MRI report came in, he told me that I have splenosis and that again a new surgery is required at any higher center. Please let me know what to do and what is the possibility of laparoscopic surgery in my case. |

Dear Yogeshwar Singh The treatment of choice for abdominal splenosis after splenectomy is Laparoscopic removal of the splenosis or the splenic tissue. You may send the reports for further advice. Thanks With Regards Dr J S Chowhan |
