Dear Sir, I am 31 years old and I got married last month. I notice a swelling in my lower abdomen when I lie on my back. I went to scan and the result reads like this. Moderately voluminous uterus harboring lobulated intramural and subserous hyperechoic masses. The intramural mass measures 4.6 cm x 4.4 cm, the subserous mass measures 4.0 cm x 2.2 cm. Smaller subserous masses are seen in the fundus and in the upper left part of the lower segment. Another mass is seen in the right annex. The left annex is free. Please can it affect my fertility because I am expected to conceive next month and should I remove them? please I need your answer. |

Dear kalpana Aiyar You are having multiple fibroids both intramural and subserous according to your scan report but nothing is mentioned whether any fibroid is occluding or impinging on the endometrial cavity. If the endometrial cavity is free the pregnancy can occur. Please get a MRI pelvis done to know the location of fibroids in relation to endometrial cavity for further advice. Thanks With Regards Dr j S chowhan |
