Dear Gaurav TIF is a successful procedure as per the literature available. TIF was developed to emulate more invasive surgical techniques, but from within the esophgus. Using the EsophyX device, the procedure is performed through the mouth, rather than through an abdominal incision. Typically lasting only 45-60 minutes, the procedure is performed under general anesthesia and reconstructs the body's natural physical antireflux barrier. Most patients can go home the next day and return to work within a few days. None of the companies is importing the Esophyx device in India. Thanks With Regards Dr J S Chowhan |

Dear Sir My Father is Suffering from hyper Acidity problem and GERD from last 4 years. He can't even sleep. Does this treatment is available in your hospital? What will be approximate cost for this treatment. Please help me. Dear Navneet Yes the surgery is available in our hospital. The surgery is known as Nissen Fundoplication. It is a surgical procedure to treat GERD usually when the medical therapy has failed. In a fundoplication, the gastric fundus (upper part) of the stomach is wrapped, or plicated, around the lower end of the esophagus and stitched in place, reinforcing the closing function of the lower esophageal sphincter. The cost can only be decided only after seeing your report. It will help us to know about the grade of the GERD. Then we can decide which surgery to perform as fundoplication is also of different type like total fundoplication, partial fundoplication. So you can visit our hospital. With Regards Dr Rahul |
