Hi can we use normal prolene mesh for laparascopic intraperitoneal mesh repair of umbilical and incisional hernia. Can complications like bowel adhesions and perforation of the bowel happen? thanks |

Dear Alan We normally use Dual Mesh or Proceed mesh for on lay repair of umbilical and incisional hernia. Use of on lay prolene mesh is associated with higher incidence of adhesions. Thanks With Regards Dr J S Chowhan |
