I am 39 years old. When I was 26, my period shortened. My ovaries are not producing eggs. If I take the HRT tablet, my period is coming up. Doctors said I'm postmenopausal. My question is the laparoscopy treatment work with me. Please give me some advice and help me. I will come to India whatever it takes. Thanks a lot. |

Dear Kriti Please get AMH (Anti Mullerian Hormone) estimation done to find out the ovarian reserve. Besides this FSH, LH and Serum Insulin levels can help the doctor in deciding whether the patient has menopause or not. There is no Laparoscopic Treatment for the menopause. Thanks With Regards Dr J S Chowhan |

Dear Siksha, The age at which a woman starts having menstrual periods is also not related to the age of menopause onset. Most women reach menopause between the ages of 45 and 55, but menopause may occur as earlier as ages 30s or 40s, or may not occur until a woman reaches her 60s. |
