He suffered from severe weakness. I consulted a gynecologist and they told me that I had enlarged red blood cells, and the gynecologist told me that I had a vitamin B12 deficiency, but when the blood tests were done and the pathologists work came back, all my vitamin levels were normal. What other disease or deficiency might enlarged red blood cells be a symptom of in a woman? Please advise me. Thanks! |

Dear Nalini Kaur You may consult a hematologist to discuss your reports for expert advice or can send them to us for opinion. Most commonly vit. B deficiency causes the enlarged RBCs. Many a times both the iron deficiency and vit.B deficiency anemia co exist. Thanks With Regards Dr J S Chowhan |
