I have occasional abdominal pain after eating protein and I don't know what I'm doing wrong, it never wants to go away and it can start every time I have egg or any protein diet. Please help me. I want to drink high protein drinks in the morning for my long hair and I need help because I also want to gain my weight. Right now I am very thin and thin. I also take fruit juice plus multivitamin capsules, but I skip it and so does my Claritin D. I've always felt tired even if I don't do any physical work and I mean super tired. I take the vitamins before I go to sleep, will they help me? |

Dear Sabnam Gupta You are probably allergic to the egg proteins, so you may try vegetarian source of protein like almonds or soya proteins. I may also tell you that diets rich in proteins actually are used to lose weight. Vitamins and minerals also donot help in gaining weight. Carbohydrates and fats rich diet normally helps in weight gain. You may get blood tests done for various deficiencies and consult your physician for the replacement of the same. Thanks With Regards Dr J S Chowhan |

Dear Avni, Abdominal pain can be caused by many conditions. However, the main causes are infection, abnormal growths, inflammation, obstruction (blockage), and intestinal disorders. Infections in the throat, intestines, and blood can cause bacteria to enter your digestive tract, resulting in abdominal pain. |
