Dear Venkat You may be suffering from GERD and the indication for fundoplication is to establish that the esophagus is exposed and in contact with gastric juices for longer duration by doing 24 hrs pH monitoring and to do manometric studies to evaluate the tone of gastroesophageal sphincter and motility of esophgus body.So before surgery these tests are mandatory. You may come to our hospital on any working day with all the reports. The Laparoscopic fundoplication is very successful surgery and you can return back to your normal work. After surgery the patient is adviced to eat small frequent diets. Thanks With Regards Dr J S Chowhan |
