What are the chances of endometriosis to recur after laparoscopic endometriosis surgery? Please advice I should go for open surgery for endometriosis or laparoscopy is good. I have a lot of pelvic adhesion due to endometriosis and ultrasound report is also showing right sided tubo-ovarian mass. |

Dear Gorangi Kapoor Endometriosis is recurrent disease by nature, as in every menstrual cycle when the endometrium sheds and passes out per vagina in normal person, in patient of Endometriosis this blood flows into the fallopian tubes and may spill in the peritoneal cavity and form chocolate cyst. The patient gets relief when menses don't occur as in pregnancy or when menses are delayed by hormonal treatment. In your case Laparoscopic surgery is a better choice. In the same surgery adhesiolysis and excision of the tubo Ovarian masss can be done. Thanks With Regards Dr J S Chowhan |
