GERD diagnosed since 6 years. I am a 26 year old male. I stay at Bombay and would like to know what kind of tests would you recommend to know if I am a suitable patient for surgery. Can you please tell me about the cost of the surgery so that I can start planning my finances accordingly. Thank you! |

Dear Hetal Sharma Your problem is six years old but you have not mentioned your symptoms however the diagnostic criteria for Fundolication is 24 Hrs increase in Gastric acid production and pH, Esophagus shortening, decreased tone of the gastric esophageal sphincter, manometry of the body of the esophagus etc. If your symptoms are controlled with medical therapy do not go for surgery. Only if medical treatment fails then surgery is adviced. Thanks With Regards Dr J S chowhan |

I hv small hitus herniya...and esophegtitis...gastrtis...deodentitis...but my main pain is burnnig in esophegas ..it hurts me...i take rabeprazol with domiparidon...after meal rantidine...it side efect n help only while taking it...now plz tel me wht to do...i hv remove my gallblder 5 yers back 7mm 5 stone...i hv read abt linxx surgery...with magnet ring...plz tel me wht to do...i fear abt esophegs cancr...plz help me.. Dear Pushkraj Medical treatment is advised for the small hernia. Linx surgery is not available in India.
