I had 2 c-sections earlier. My 2nd baby died in 2.5 months after birth. Now i am trying for another baby for past 1.5 years and now doctor advised me to do HSG. And on HSG the report showed as the tube blocked on both the sides. The dye did not pass through the tube at all. Can tubal recanalization be done or should go for a laparascopy to correct this. Please advise |

Dear Clara Rani The HSG test is not fully reliable for checking the patency of the fallopian tubes. Diagnostic laparoscopy with Tubal Patency Test (TPT) is more accurate. Even if tubes are seen to be blocked on TPT the confirmatory test is Diagnostic Hysteroscopy with Chromopertubation. Moreover laparoscopic or Robotic Tubal Recanalization can be done in Tubal blockage. Thanks With Regards dr J S Chowhan |
