Hello, I have constant urge of vometing after 1 to 2 hours of having food. My throat feels tight. Food reegutturation is frequent. Endoscopic revels minor sliding hernia. I have problem every day.I am on nexium since a year with no help. Hovever I have no heart burn. Shall I go for reflux surgery with this vometing tendency as life will be terrible as I will not beagle to vomit after this surgery. Please advise. |

Dear Sid gaurav Your problem is in the begining stages. The criteria for Fundolication is 24 Hrs increase in Gastric acid production and pH, Esophagus shortening, decreased tone of the gastric esophageal sphincter, manometry of the body of the esophagus etc. If your symptoms are controlled with medical therapy do not go for surgery. Only if medical treatment fails then surgery is adviced. Thanks With Regards Dr J S Chowhan |

Dear Jannat, When appearing shortly after a meal, nausea or vomiting may be caused by food poisoning, gastritis (inflammation of the stomach lining), an ulcer, or bulimia. However, certain food- borne bacteria, such as salmonella, can take longer to produce symptoms. |
