Hello, My daughter had the whipple procedure when she was 17 years old. She is now 24.She has been experiencing light headedness and real high jolts of energy and then real low points of the lack of energy at all. She is very athletic and works out on a daily basis. She also eats very healthy. As a mom I am concerned about her blood sugar levels and her enzymes. I would also feel much better if we could get a check up on her pancreas now and make sure nothing has grown back. Even though the tumors were NOT cancerous they were very fast growing. What kind of a doctor do we need to go see to go and get these enzymes and blood sugar levels checked and maybe a cat scan to look on the inside? thank you for your time. |

Dear Tami Higginbotham It is really heartening to know that your daughter is well seven years after the Whipple procedure. She also has very active life style. You may consult a surgical Gastroenterologist for follow up. He will suggest you what blood tests and scans need to be done. Thanks Dr J S Chowhan |
