I am from India and I am seeking your valuable advice

My daughter Sabarna, aged 28 yrs had ACL tear in the left knee. She, underwent ACL reconstruction in her left knee through A'scopic method on 21st Nov 2014 with graft. She was discharged on 23rd Nov. Her dressings were removed on 26th Nov and stitches were removed on 2nd. Dec.

She underwent physiotherapy exercises as per protocol. She has been asked to wear a brace over the knee while walking, for 3 weeks post surgery. She has been prescribed following two medicines
(i) Cap Ace - Proxyvon - twice daily at B/f and at bed time
(ii) Tab NutriRight - W - once daily at bedtime

She has been now complaining of :

(i) Inability to bend her leg beyond 60 deg while lying down( She is able to do 90 degree while sitting on a chair)
(ii) Numbness on the backside of the knee ( Its absent soon after exercise but reoccurs a little later thereafter)
(iii) Inability to walk normally without brace

Kindly give your valuable opinion on this matter

Dear Sudhish
Thanks for writing. The recovery time after the ACL repair is 6 to 8 weeks. With phsiotherapy and under the guidance of your surgeon your daughter will improve gradually.

Thanks
With Regards
