I went to medical check and from usg which is also followed by usg transvaginal, the doctors found 3 fibroids with size of 4 to 5 cm each which is also pressing my bladder now. The doctors here would like to operate straight away (laparoscopy) ut i am wondering if theres other options. Fyi i am also anemic with hb of 10.6 and a very low ferretin in my blood. Thanks Tanya |

Dear Tanya You have not mentioned your age, marital status and if married number of children you have. In younger patients the treatment of fibroids is Laparoscopic Myomectomy i.e. removal of the fibroids by Laparoscopic Surgery. In premenopausal patients conservative treatment is possible because with cessation of the menstrual periods the size of the fibroids decrease. As regards your haemoglobin 10.6gm% is sufficent for surgery. Thanks With Regards Dr J S Chowhan |
