No flow of Urine of TURP without Catheter

Hi Doctor, I am 68 years of age and have got TURP surgery of enlarged glands on 2nd February 2015.Since then I am on Catheter.After 2nd time cystoscopy it was confirmed again the surgery is successful.I have also been facing back problems for the last 2 years.The concerned Doctors of spine and neurology have consulted and that are of the opinion that back problem is not the cause of hinderance in urine flow after removal of catheter for 3 and more hours.I am on catheter since 2nd February 2015, due to which I am facing walking problem and using stick.Also some times facing severe constipation, for which I use chilka Isibgole and honey in hot water and also sometimes use medicines.On using medicines it sometime changes to dihrrea.My belly remains tense.Please advice me so that I could get rid of this problem and urine can flow without catheter. |

Dear Ali Ahmad, After TURP the flow of urine should be normal. Your problem is pointing towards some pathology which was overlooked. Urinary Catheter should not be kept for long time otherwise it may cause urinary track infection. You should consult one another Urologist and get a second opinion for proper diagnosis. Unfortunately without physically examining it we cannot give you any advice at this time. IF possible please come to World Laparoscopy Hospital for consultation. with regards Nidhi |
