Hello I have been diagnosed with the above condition end April and medical insurance needs more detailed clinical info on codes in order to authorize. My problem is that although periods are unbearable I continually suffer from bloating,extreme constipation back and leg pains almost daily...my ca125 test was 130....is this serious...can my condition not be treated with medication to avert laparoscopy. Thanks |

Dear Lorraine Adenomyosis is very difficult to treat medically. It is very unlikely that you will get treated by the medicine, it is better to get hysterectomy. For this procedure we need to know your age. You can think about this surgery if you have completed your family else Wedge resection of Adenomyosis has to be done. With regards Nidhi |

Dear Amita The exact cause of adenomyosis is not known but some of them are listed here Invasive tissue growth, uterine inflammation related to childbirth, developmental origin, stem cell origin. |
