I am 61+ male suffering from BPH for the last two years and under treatment since then. I have done all tests including PSA level which is 3.60 ng/ml and all other test reports are normal. At present, I am taking Alfusin 10 mg once daily at bed time for the last 4 months and my condition has certainly improved. Now, please suggest me whether I will have to continue the medication for a prolonged period and if I do that whether it will cause harm to me.

Dear Mr Chowdhury

If medicine is helping you and your problems are under control in my opinion you can avoid the surgery. BPH is a normal process which happens to every male more or less in older age group. Alfusin is a safe medicine although few side effects are there Some of the side effects that can occur with alfuzosin may not need medical attention. As your body adjusts to the medicine during treatment these side effects may go away.

You should remain in contact with your physician and if it is required there are other medicines for BPH which can be prescribed later.

With regard

Nidhi
