Dear sir, As per the sonography report of my mother 54yrs old: Uterus is bulky. Regular26mm thick endometrium seen. A 20mm posterior fundal intramural myoma seen. cervix is normal. A 30X25mm unilocular anechoic cyst seen in right ovary. Kindly suggest if the tumor is cancerous or not and what steps are to be taken |

Dear Drishti Myoma rarely get malignant. In our opinion your mother is going in to menopause age. If she dont have much symptoms then you should wait and slowly her myoma will automatically shrink in size. You should get PAP smear of myoma done every year. Hysterectomy is only required if the medical therapy does not work and she has excessive bleeding. With Regard Sadhana |
