Hello Sir,

My mother (Age 57 ; weight 70 KG) has a 11mm (10.7mm precisely) gall bladder stone. It was detected 20 days back, although she was suffering from stomachache from past 5-6 months. She also says that she don't feel hungry, and eats food anyways.

She is scared of laser surgery, so trying to avoid (ignore / postpone) it by not taking it seriously.

Can you please give us more information on how severe / crucial, important and pain-less this operation is ?

I'm sure she will feel more confident after reading your advise.

Thanking you in anticipation.
My Best Wishes To You.

Dear Saurabh

As you have stated that your mother is having symptoms like abdominal pain and anorexia, surgical intervention is needed. The size of the stone is also big. Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy is the treatment of the size. Laparoscopic cholecystectomy is the surgery in which the gall bladder is removed along with stone with the help of telescope, camera and different instrument. It is done by making small hole in your abdomen through which this telescope, camera and instrument are inserted and the surgery is carried on. In this surgery the patient stay in the hospital is minimal. The scar in the patient body is minimal and the patient can resume their work early.
