Hello Doctor, My mother got operated in July 2016 and gall bladder was removed through Laparoscopy. After a week puss started coming out of naval area and through one of incision below breast. Surgeon said that the body is not accepting foreign bodies. After a month of treatments and medication surgeon suggested to remove the belly button. Mom had to undergo another surgery and entire infection was washed away. She was under observation for 15 days and then stich was cut. After a week again the stiched area below the breast is red and puss started to come out. Could anyone suggest how to proceed on this? If required I could provide more details. |

Dear Rohit Here i will suggest you to go for the culture and sensitivity test. The discharge off the pus and redness can be due to the infection. So the culture and sensitivity will provide us the causative organism of the infection and after that we can provide the effective antibiotics. If the infection is not subsiding it can be probably due to the atypical mycobacterium infection but we need to confirm with culture and sensitivity test. With Regards Dr Rahul |
