I am the father of 2 girl children - both born thru the C section. The C section for my second child happened 12 years back and family planning for my wife was done thereby. Now I and my wife would like to have another baby and when consulted with the Doctors at Coimbatore, they are fine to go with laparoscopic surgery, so that my wife shall be eligible to carry another baby. But the cost to undergo the surgery is out of my scope as I am an Arabic Teacher and my monthly income is limited. Being this the situation, I came to know about the service rendered at your hospital and would like to undertake the free laparoscopic surgery for my wife. With reference to this website, I understood that a certificate from a local physician here is required to avail the free service at your hospital, which I shall get ASAP. I am planning to get the surgery done very soon. ie., by mid of june as the school, starts thereafter followed by the routine schedule. So I request you kindly to consider my situation and to do the needful by providing me with a positive reply with an appointment date of your convenience (hopefully before June 15th pls), so that I could apply for an appointment at the said date. Note: I can speak Hindi and in case if you are calling me, may I request you to kindly speak in Hindi as I am writing this mail thru my friend as I am not well versed in English. |

Hello sir What are the chances of getting pregnant after the reversal surgery? My wife had gone under Tubal sterilization after our family was complete but due to the sudden demise of our only child we want to go for the reversal operation. |

Dear Sandeep It's sad to hear about your loss. The reversal surgery or tubal ligation can be performed. In general, 50 to 80 percent of women who have tubal ligation reversal go on to have successful pregnancies. It depends on different factors Your partner’s sperm count and quality. Pregnancy is more likely to be successful if neither you nor your partner has any fertility issues. The amount of healthy fallopian tube left. If less damage was done to your fallopian tubes when you had tubal ligation, you’re more likely to get pregnant. Presence of pelvic scar tissue. Scar tissue from previous pelvic surgeries may affect your chances of getting pregnant. Type of sterilization. Women who had ring/clip sterilization are more likely to get pregnant after reversal. Age. Pregnancy success after tubal reversal is most likely in women under 35 and least likely in women over 40. The pregnancy success rate for women under 35 is 70 to 80 percent, while the rate for women over 40 is 30 to 40 percent. |
