After taking an MTP kit, if retained tissue or clots remain in the uterus, there is a risk of infection, which could lead to fever and other symptoms like abdominal pain, foul-smelling discharge, or continued bleeding. Medications to help clear remaining tissue (such as misoprostol) are often prescribed to reduce this risk. However, even with medication, fever may occur if there is an infection or if the body is responding to retained tissue. If you experience fever, severe pain, or prolonged bleeding after using the MTP kit, it's important to consult a healthcare provider. They may suggest an ultrasound to check for any remaining tissue and may recommend additional treatment, like antibiotics or a surgical procedure (such as dilation and curettage), if necessary to prevent complications. |
