Enlarged prostate, or benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), is a common condition in men as they age. Here are some treatment options:

Lifestyle Changes:

Diet: Eat a healthy diet rich in fruits, vegetables, and healthy fats. Avoid caffeine and alcohol, which can irritate the bladder.

Exercise: Regular physical activity can help manage symptoms.

Fluid Management: Limit fluid intake in the evening to reduce nighttime urination.

Medications:

Alpha Blockers: These help relax the muscles of the prostate and bladder neck, making it easier to urinate (e.g., tamsulosin, alfuzosin).

Alpha Reductase Inhibitors: These can shrink the prostate over time (e.g., finasteride, dutasteride).

Combination Therapy: Sometimes, a combination of both types of medications is used.

Minimally Invasive Procedures:

Transurethral Resection of the Prostate (TURP): A common surgical procedure that removes part of the prostate.

Laser Therapy: Uses laser energy to remove or destroy prostate tissue.

Uro Lift: A newer procedure that involves placing implants to lift and hold the enlarged prostate tissue out of the way.

Surgery:

In severe cases, if other treatments are ineffective, a more invasive surgery may be necessary.
Regular Monitoring:

Regular check-ups with your healthcare provider are essential to monitor the condition and adjust treatment as needed.
