I had surgery for tube blockage 2 years ago but I am still not pregnant. What are the potential reasons for not being able to conceive despite the surgery? |

There are several potential reasons why you might not be pregnant despite having had surgery for tubal blockage: Residual Tubal Blockage: Sometimes, even after surgery, the fallopian tubes may not be fully open or may develop scar tissue that causes partial blockage. Scar Tissue Formation: Scar tissue from the surgery or underlying conditions like endometriosis or pelvic inflammatory disease could affect the tubes' function or other reproductive organs. Other Reproductive Issues: There could be other issues such as uterine fibroids, polyps, or hormonal imbalances affecting fertility. Partner's Fertility: It's also important to consider the fertility of your partner. Male fertility issues can also be a factor. Age and Egg Quality: Age and egg quality can impact fertility. As women age, their egg quality and quantity decrease. Underlying Medical Conditions: Conditions like PCOS, thyroid disorders, or autoimmune disorders could affect fertility. Surgical Complications: Complications from the surgery itself could affect fertility or reproductive health. |
